cooking diary no. 3

I made mozzarella stuff meatballs and spaghetti, which always turn out well.

P. made two desserts: Apple Sharlotka (it was like a tasty bread pudding, with a almond-flavored really light crust on top that reminds me of the crust that forms on top of deep snow after a few days and has powder underneath) and Lemon Cakes inspired by Game of Thrones. These cakes are to-die-for.  They seem like they might be easy to screw up though. P. was running around boiling water, whisking eggs, foiling and unfoiling and asking me to reset the timer many times.

I also tried to make one of my favorite salads, based off the house salad at MacKenzie River Pizza, but I forgot to buy grape nuts. It's supposed to be just red leaf lettuce, pears and grape nuts. I did pear, carrot, lettuce instead.
