my favorite films of 2011

Movies I saw in 2011:

Loved:

Drive

Melancholia

Blue Valentine

Martha Marcy May Marlene

Beginners

The Artist

Barney's Version

Good and perfectly enjoyable:

Midnight in Paris

Crazy Stupid Love

Moneyball

The Mysterious Lady

Senna

Tron Legacy (wish I had seen it in 3D)

Terrible:
Country Strong
(It was laughable, enjoyable to watch as a comedy--but it's so bad it's silly. The ending takes the cake.)

Your Highness
(Ties for worst film this year, I slept during part of it and cringed the rest of the time at the inane humor and bathroom jokes.)

Something Borrowed
(I hated this film because it was totally unrealistic, had terrible writing, terrible acting, and horrible characters. Kate Hudson needs to go away.)

Take Shelter
(This was over-the-edge arty, too slow, and I'm not sure what the point was. I also fell asleep but didn't miss much. It did have beautiful cinematography and good acting, but it just didn't gel for me.)

Catfish
(The director was narcissistic and this had a misleading trailer--this is by no means a thriller.)

Dying to see:

Shame

Mixed feelings/thought it would be better:

Young Adult
This had some great scenes. I need to watch it again to see how I feel.

Would like to see:
The Descendants
The Company Men
Jane Eyre
The Greatest Movie Ever Sold
Contagion
Red State
Margaret
Meek's Cutoff
The Skin I Live In
Tree of Life
In Time
Like Crazy
J. Edgar
Immortals
Hugo
A Dangerous Method
The Iron Lady
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Sleeping Beauty
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Which films did I forget?
